Who were the Byzantines?
In order to get a better idea of whom these people were our class will study and explore this civilization as a group.
Each student will be assigned a different facet of Life within Byzantine society, they will explore this theme and present to the class what they have learned.
This presentation can come in many different forms but must completely explain their Theme/Facet.
Examples of Finished Projects;
➢ 1 ½ Page Essay with note cards for Presentation of Material
➢ PowerPoint Presentation with explanation of Slideshow (note cards to use for presentation of materials.

What Do I HAVE To DO??
In order to prove you understand the Major accomplishments of The Romans you will need to complete the following task as your assessment:
Choose One accomplishments to focus on.
In some way, prove to me you understand fully exactly what this accomplishment was. All that it involved, and why the Romans needed it.
Prove that you understand what impact this accomplishment had on The Empire and The World Today. Is it still used today?
What Do I Have to Turn In?
Your Proof should be a physical piece that would fully explain this accomplishment to anyone.
This must be a finished piece.
What Could It Look Like?
o Be Creative. Try to build it yourself. If you do this we can use it later in class. For our model.
o Make slides for our IMovie. We can do this on the computer’s!!!
o Act out scenes that we can tape.
o Portray different “Scenes” depicting important Events, and Movements during The Roman Empire. Then we will take pictures.
o Cut Music with Various Roman Speeches.

• Make a timeline that depicts major events within your life.
When is this assignment due?
• This assignment will be due on Monday September 18th
To complete your personal timeline you must…
• Decide what the ten biggest events are/were in your life whether good or bad.
• Decide which form your timeline will take.
• Decide how you will depict your events; Words, Pictures, Drawings, etc.
• Lay out chosen events in chronological order.
• Give enough detail to depict event accurately.
What types of things can be included?
• This does not need to be a timeline of your life from birth to present.
• You may include events such as, Birth, First tooth, day of school football game, boy/girlfriend, Death in the family, surgeries, broken bones, etc…
