Giving Figures a Name
Get a Math Book and Open up to Pg. 463. Using Example 1 as a guide complete the following task.
Get a piece of White Computer Paper
At the Top, Title the Paper, Naming Geometric Figures
Step 1- Draw a straight line that measures 4 inches with two points.
- Name the Two points W & K.
- Points are named with a capital letter.
Step 2- Using a protractor measure a 30 degree angle between Points W & K.
- Name the vertex of this angle point T & the End of the Segment that forms this angle point H.
Step 3- Name the four different Line segments that you have just formed.
- You Name a segment by it's endpoints.
Step 4- Write Five other names for WK.
- Although there is one line pictured it has several other names.
Step 5- Name Five Different Rays pictured on your paper.
- The First letter names the end point of the Ray.
Step 6- When you're done, Place this in your Geometry Folder & Move On to Task 5.
